Product Description
Slow feed nets have been available on the market for many years and been highly successful, gaining a reputation as a healthy method of feeding horses while being easier on a horse's mouth. We have not compromised on the quality and rely on PP, polyster, and nylon, which are extremely durable and ideal for netting.
Our Concept of using small mesh nets induces the horses to eat slower and in that way stay healthier. Research shows that a free grazing horse will easily eat for between 13 and 18 hours a day. Since a horse has a small stomach in relation to the size of the rest of its body, it is not built to eat too much at one time. The small mesh in the nets reduces access to the feed so the horse chews more for longer periods without over consuming.
It is the number of chews and the time it takes that is satisfying for the horse. A horse feels good when it has to chew more for the amount of hay it consumes.
